Box breathing is a simple yet effective technique used to promote relaxation and reduce stress. This method involves a structured pattern of inhalation, holding, exhalation, and holding again, each lasting for a set duration. Below is a diagram illustrating the box breathing technique with each stage lasting 4 seconds.
Explanation of Each Stage:
-
Breathe In (4 seconds): Inhale deeply through your nose for a count of four, filling your lungs completely.
-
Hold (4 seconds): Retain your breath for another count of four, allowing the oxygen to circulate in your body.
-
Exhale (4 seconds): Slowly exhale through your mouth for a count of four, releasing all the air from your lungs.
-
Hold (4 seconds): After exhaling, hold your breath again for a count of four before starting the cycle again.
Repeat this pattern 4 times. It will take just one minute and I promise you will feel more relaxed!
Be good to your self!
